How and when do I Pay?

Purple Sumo accepts PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, bank transfers, cheques, money orders and cash for payment. All payments must be in Australian dollars. No matter how you decided to pay, you will have to place your order online. Your order will begin processing once payment is received. Items are not reserved until payment is received.

How do I pay with a credit card?

During the checkout process you will be asked to select a payment option. If you select credit card you will be sent to PayPal, and can make your payment via their secure payment gateway.
Can I use a relative's, parent's, friend's or company credit card?
Yes, but the order must be shipped to the address of the cardholder.

Is it safe to use my credit card at Purple Sumo?

Yes! Our credit card payments go via PayPal; which is the biggest, safest payment gateway on the net. PayPal also covers you up to $10,000 in case of fraud.

How can I pay with cash, check or Money Order?

If you don't want to use PayPal or a credit card to pay for your order, Purple Sumo accepts, cheques or a money order. During the checkout process you should choose cheque or money order from the payment options. You will then be given an order number and the mailing address. Remember that all payments must be in Australian Dollars ONLY! Your order will not begin processing and items will not be reserved until full payment is received. If you send in payment it will be at your own risk. Purple Sumo is not be responsible for payments lost in the mail. Once we receive your payment a notification email will be sent to you. When mailing in your payment please include your name, address and order number.

What if my cheque bounces?

We will contact you if we receive notification from the bank if your cheque has bounced. You will be responsible for paying the original amount of the check plus a $20.00 returned cheque fee. This isn't because we want to punish you or anything, but our bank is charging us that fee.

I have credit with Purple Sumo. How can I use it?

You should place a new order on your Purple Sumo account. After clicking on Check Out, you will see the option to use your credit on the payment selection screen. If your order total is more than the amount of credit you have, you can pay the balance with PayPal, cash, check, moneyorder, Visa or MasterCard.

Does Purple Sumo offer gift certificates?

I was given an Purple Sumo gift certificate. How do I use it?
To use your gift certificate, place an order like you normally would. On the payment screen enter your gift certificate number in the Payment Information section. If it won't cover your whole order, choose the payment type that you will use to pay for the balance of your order. You do not need to mail us your gift certificate.

Shipping Questions

How much is shipping for domestic or international orders?

The cost of shipping is calculated based on the weight of what you buy. This is calculated by Australia Post. After you add something to your shopping cart, the shipping cost will be reflected there. Delivery times for International orders can vary depending on customs and is not guaranteed by a specific date.
What shipping options does Purple Sumo offer?
We offer both regular and express shipping in Australia, and Air Mail for International orders.

What if I never received my order and my package is returned to you?

If we receive your package returned to us, we will attempt to contact you to resolve the problem. If there is an error in the address provided to us, you will be responsible for a reshipping fee.

Order Status Questions

How do I view my order status?

On the main Customer Service screen you can enter your account number and password to view the status of all of your orders.
When will I get my order?
Over 90% of orders ship either the same or next business day.

Can I order if I'm not from Australia?

Yes! Just make sure you choose the correct shipping when viewing your shopping cart. You can only pay via PayPal (in Australian Dollars) or an International Cashierís Check in Australian Dollars.
If you are sending in your payment, you must include your order number with the payment.

Do you accept credit cards from every country in the world?

No we don't. Can you mark the customs form as "Gift"?

Sorry, this canít and wonít be done.

Will I have to pay any extra taxes when I receive my order?

Some countries charge you an import tax on certain items if the value is over a certain amount. Each country has different laws for the amount of tax (if any) that you must pay before customs will release your package to you. These taxes are out of our control and there is no way Purple Sumo can pre-pay these taxes. You should contact your local custom's people to ask if your country has an import tax and on what type of products it applies to.

Return Policy Questions

How do I return something?

As long as you meet our return policy below, you may ship back items you didn't like. You will have to pay for the return postage to us. Once we receive your return, you will get store credit for the value of the returned merchandise (no shipping refunds) or your item can be exchanged for different items. Keep in mind that if you plan on using the credit to buy something else, additional shipping charges may apply.
    All returns MUST be made within 14 days from the ship date.
    If an item is damaged or defective when you receive it, you may return it for the same item.
    If you are not happy with a clothing item because it doesn't fit, you may return it as long as it has not been washed or worn and is in resellable condition. You will receive store credit towards other items (less shipping). All items must still have all the tags attached (if applicable).
    The following may not be returned: Stickers, Buttons, Patches, & Accessories.

What if you ship me the wrong, defective or damaged item?

If we made a mistake and ship you a wrong, defective or damaged please send back your item with a receipt of how much you paid for shipping to send the item back. Once we receive the return of the defective/misshipped item we will give you store credit on your Purple Sumo account for the cost of the return shipping and send you a new/correct item.

General Questions

Who can I contact if I have questions?

If you've already placed an order with Purple Sumo, the fastest way to get answers to your questions is to log into the customer service part of our site and view your order status. You will see the option to send us a message from that screen. We respond to those messages before regular e-mailed questions. If you have not placed an order with us yet or do not have an account before you can email us at  and we will get back to you as soon as possible. 

If I place an order, or even just open an account, will I get unsolicited e-mail from anyone because of my interactions with Purple Sumo.com?

No! We do not sell, share, trade or show anyone your e-mail address or anything about you. We consider all information you give Purple Sumo.com completely confidential, therefore you will never get junk e-mail or real junk mail because of us.
How do I update my e-mail address or other account information?
To update your e-mail address, shipping addresses, password or other account information, click on Account Information on the left side of the main Customer Service screen, after you are logged in.

What does it mean if an item says "Various" colors?

For most clothing items we put the color of the item in text. If our supplier does not send us a consistent color, we put (Various). This does not mean we have more than one color in stock for you to choose from. We will ship you the color that we currently have.

How can I view or buy an item if all I know is the Purple Sumo item number?

Using the search bar on the top of our website, change the search option to "Item #" and then enter the item number in the search box.

Do you have a size chart for t-shirt?

Yes we do. To view the size chart, click here.
Why does the image on Purple Sumo show a logo on the back on a t-shirt, but the one I received didn't have it?
Some shirts on Purple Sumo show a logo on the back for a band or label. Some suppliers can change that at anytime so you may receive a shirt that does not have the logo on the back. We usually update the images on our site as soon as we notice a change.

Why is the image on Purple Sumo a slightly brighter/darker colour than my actual tee?

Unfortunately, due to the fact that computer monitors are backlit, and clothing isnít, colours will always seem brighter on screen than in real life. Also, monitors are able to depict a pitch black to a level that can not be repeated in real life.

Do you manufacture these tees?

No, we do not. We are a retailer, we make none of the items we sell.

I want a tee you have in a different size than listed, how do I get it?

Not only do we list what we have in stock, but we also list items that we can get (on backorder), if a size you want is not listed there, we cannot get it.

Do you have a printed catalog?

No, we do not. Since we so many items in our store, printing a catalog would be too costly and would raise the prices of our products. Plus we add hundreds of items each week to our store and dozens of items go out of print each week so a catalog would be outdated before we could even mail it to you.
